Day 1: Departure for Tbilisi
Fly to Tbilisi.
Day 2: Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi, meet in the airport and transfer to a hotel for rest.
Today you have Tbilisi tour on your own, walking tour which lasts around 3-4 hrs.
Tbilisi – the capital of Georgia is an elegant mixture of eastern and western cultures. Venture out in the old winding streets to explore this exotic city and later indulge yourself to sit in the small cozy café and enjoy the picturesque views over the old town. The tour will take you from the century old churches to the amazing panoramic views and famous bath district which attracted lots of people during the centuries.
Day 3: Tbilisi/David Gareji/Kvareli
Today we drive to David Gareji cave monastery (6th c). On arrival you will be amazed by the picturesque landscapes and monastery itself. Centuries ago the monks carved out the caves still surprising theri visitors. Visit Lavra monastery and afterwards start walking up to Udabno monastery to enjoy wonderful frescoes and views overlooking Azerbaijan valley.
Drive to Kvareli.
Day 4: Wine tour
Visit the local wineries which keep the ancient traditions of wine producing. The method of Qvevri wine making in Georgia is inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage intangible list. The locals will be truly the best guides here in explaining everything to you. Visit family and manufacturing wineries and compare their wines.
Day 5: Kvareli/Gombori Pass/Mtskheta/Gudauri
After breakfast we depart for Mtskheta to visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11th c) and Jvari monastery on top of a hill (6th-7th cc). We take a drive over Gombori Pass. Afterwards we continue driving up to Georgian Military Highway and en route enjoy the fascinating views. On the way to Gudauri we stop at Ananuri architectural complex overlooking Jinvali reservoir. Arrive in Gudauri.
Day 6: Gudauri/Kazbegi/Gudauri
Today we drive to Kazbegi and enjoy the stunning scenery all the way. Upon arrival in Kazbegi we start walking up to Gergeti Trinity church (14th c). Hiking up to the mountain is of moderate difficulty but it is all worthwhile. The beauty all along the way and up to the church will make you forget about tiredness. If the weather permits, you may even see one of the highest peaks in the Caucasus –Mt. Kazbegi (5047 m).
Drive back to Gudauri and overnight.
Day 7: Gudauri/Gori/Kutaisi
Another beautiful and picturesque day awaits us today. Start driving to Gori, better known as Stalin’s birth place and continue to the ancient cave town of Uplistsikhe. That’s a place where the Great Silk Road used to pass. Afterwards continue our way to west Georgia, Land of Golden Fleece and visit the city of Kutaisi whose antiquity is more than 3000 years.
Day 8: Kutaisi/Zugdidi/Mestia
In the morning we drive to visit splendid Gelati academy and monastery (12th c) and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex is outstanding indeed and captures the attention of its visitors from the very first sight.
Afterwards we continue our way to Svaneti. En route pass the town of Zugdidi and visit local royal family – Dadiani Palace. The palace-museum is considered to be one of the most eminent palaces in Caucasus. Arrive in Mestia.
Day 9: Mestia/Ushguli
Get ready to start exploring Svaneti region and enjoy overwhelming beauty all around you. Start driving to Ushguli, the highest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe. Compared to Mestia, Ushguli has been “saved” by its particularly inaccessible location, which helped preserve the village’s timeless feel. The drive will take you around 3 hrs. Arrive in Ushguli and enjoy a glass of beer in the background of the mighty Caucasus mountains after taking a walk in the village.
Day 10: Ushguli/Shkhara/Mestia
This day is a leisure trek towards Shkhara glacier which lasts around 5 hrs roundtrip. We assure you that it will be truly an unspeakable pleasure for everyone. Beautiful flowers, mighty mountains and world of amazing beauty will accompany you throughout the trek. Later drive back to Mestia for an overnight.
Day 11: Mestia/Batumi
Today we drive to Achara province and to its pretty town of Batumi. After breathtaking views of the mountains, indulge yourselves to enjoy the beauty of the town and go out at the beach of the Black Sea. The city is very attractive at night as well, so take a chance to see night Batumi.
Day 12: Batumi
Day on your own in Batumi, possibility to visit Botanical Gardens, Gonio fortress (1st c) Mirveti and Makhuntseti Waterfalls. Drop off the Jeep.
Day 13: Departure home
Transfer to the airport and departure.
