Day 1: Arrive in Tbilisi
Arrive in Tbilisi and transfer to a hotel.
Day 2: Tbilisi
We have walking tour of Tbilisi visiting the highlights of the Old Town with beautiful Orthodox Christian Churches, Mosque, Synagogue, famous and refreshing Sulphur Baths, narrow cobbled streets with hanging wooden carved multi-colored balconies and the 19th century houses following the architectural styles of the 19th century Europe, Narikala Fortress, the glass Bridge of Peace. Late morning we’ll visit the golden treasury of History Museum exhibiting ancient crosses and icons of Georgia.
We need to head for our lunch now. We take a Metro ride and visit a family where we prepare our own food, traditional Georgian dishes and enjoy sharing our moments with a local family, where you can learn more of the family members and their lives.
Late afternoon free.
In the evening we travel by Funicular train to Mtatsminda and enjoy great views over the town.
For dinner along with other dishes we’ll have famous “Ponchiki” (cream filled pastry) and Laghidze Lemonade.

Day 3: Tbilisi/Alvani/Gremi/Kvareli
Travel to Kakheti province – the cradle of wine. The province is beautiful with its vineyards, valleys and towering Caucasus Mountains and has a lot to tell.
We visit a lady who works on Teka – felt and she’ll trach us to work on wool and create felt artifacts, get natural colors from leaves, ashes, insects etc.
Later we travel to Gremi and have a look at beautiful frescoes of Gremi Church. Close to the church we visit “Gremi Temi” – the place that takes care of children and adults with disabilities. This is a wonderful place where you can see what a kind mind can do to help others.
As an essential part of our tour, of course, we’ll visit a local winery to get acquainted with traditional way of wine-making.

Day 4: Kvareli/Velistsikhe/Sighnaghi
Travel to the fields of Kakheti fertile land. We can pick some vegetables and fruit in the orchards with locals (depends on the month for varieties and options). Visit a wine-cellar with numerous items about wine-making. Take part in baking Kakhetian bread “Shoti” and making Georgian sweets “Churchkhela”.
Continue to Sighnaghi – the town of love, comfortably nestled inside the wall. On our way visit Bodbe Nunnery housing the Tomb of St. Nino, Cappadocian maiden who converted Georgia to Christianity in the 4th century.

Day 5: Sighnaghi/Mtskheta/Kazbegi
Travel to the holiest town of Georgia – Mtskheta. This is an ancient capital of Georgia where St. Nino started preaching Christianity. She together with mystic signs from God convinced King Mirian to accept Christianity and make Georgia officially Christian in 337 AD. St. We visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery. Svetitskhoveli is the place where Georgians believe that the Robe of Christ is buried. Transfer to Kazbegi along the Georgian Military Highway. Stop in Ananuri to see Georgia’s biggest carving on Ananuri Church.

Day 6: Kazbegi/Juta/Kazbegi
We have a very early start to visit remote and spectacular Juta village. We need to be there for the time that cows are milked. Give it a try and milk the local cows. Our hostess will give some hints, of course. Afterwards she’ll show how Georgians make home-made cheese. Enjoy a cup of coffee with local honey and Matsoni Yogurt and after this breakfast take a short walk on top of the village to have a beautiful view to Mt. Chaukhebi. Enjoy a short morning walk and return to Kazbegi
In the afternoon we’ll walk up to Gergeti Chuch.

Day 7: Kazbegi/Upistsikhe/Kutaisi
Travel to Uplistsikhe Cave Town and enjoy a cave walk. The town is dug in the sun-stone plateau and is of beautiful golden color. Initially there had been more than 500 caves, but during the existence of 3000 years it has lost much of it.
Continue to West Georgia. On Rikoti Pass we’ll see many wooden and clay made artifacts. Visit one of the clay-masters and learn the tips of working on clay. The “studio” is in master’s own home and making clay artifacts is the way of his income. We’ll clearly see what the locals do to earn for living and how they live in the villages of Georgia.
Arrive in Kutaisi.

Day 8: Kutaisi
Kutaisi nowadays is thought to be the ancient Aia, where princes Medea lived and Jason came for the Golden Fleece.
We take a city tour of Kutaisi and visit Gelati and Bagrati UNESCO World Heritage Sites as well as a natural grotto with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites.
For dinner we’ll be joined by local singers and we’ll enjoy polyphonic Georgian singing.

Day 9: Kutaisi/Zugdidi/Mestia
Discover the land of glaciers, forests, rivers and numerous myths – Upper Svaneti – UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On our way we visit colorful and busy market of Zugdidi.
Upon arrival in Mestia we’ll see History Museum and in the evening we’ll take a class of famous Georgian dances.

Day 10: Mestia/Ushguli/Mestia
This morning we’ll travel to the highest permanently inhabited village of Ushguli situated in front of the highest summit of Georgia – Mt. Shkhara (5068 m).
At a local family we’ll see traditional Svanetian hat making.
Return to Mestia.

Day 11: Mestia/Batumi
From the mountains we descend to the Black Sea coast. Batumi is a charming town of beautiful architecture, interesting monuments, nice square and seaside boulevard.
Arrive in Batumi and take a walking city tour.

Day 12: Batumi
Morning free to take a swim in the Black Sea. You won’t find golden sand here, but be a local and try the bubbles.
In the afternoon we visit Botanical Gardens – the real highlight of Achara Province.
We’ll try and learn boat-shaped Acharian Khachapuri making today.

Day 13: Batumi/Tbilisi
Travel back to Tbilisi. Arrive in Tbilisi and free time or take an optional tour to Gold Market of Georgia.

Day 14: Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure.
