Georgia combines beautiful mountains and valleys, Black Sea and semi-dessert. You can travel from the mysterious mountain provinces to the land of wine and poetry.

 

Georgia’s terrain is of great variety and to explore it on a 4WD tour is a real pleasure as you reach the areas not accessible by standard vehicles.

 

Travel around Georgia and get its best with mountains, rivers, wild flowers, hospitable people, fresh and delicious dishes and wine.

Day 1: Departure for Tbilisi

Day 2: Tbilisi

 After arrival in Tbilisi, meet your guide and driver and transfer to a hotel.

After breakfast, Tbilisi walking tour awaits you! Tbilisi is a modern vibrant city with ancient culture and history. Enjoy visiting century old churches, as well as take a pleasant walk in the winding streets to get a taste of the European and Asian cultures. Take a break to enjoy any drink on the roof terraces from where you will be caught by the attractive views of the old town. Evening free.

Day 3: Tbilisi/Mtskheta /Gudauri

Get the jeeps and start the tour towards Gudauri ski resort. Mtskheta is an ancient capital of Georgia and it houses two UNESCO sites: Jvari monastery (6th c) and Svetitskhoveli cathedral (11th c). Visit them and then continue drive to Gudauri. En route visit Ananuri complex which undoubtedly has the one of the most amazing locations at Jinvali reservoir. The complex itself is truly beautiful with magnificent carving. Afterwards arrive in Gudauri.

Day 4: Gudauri/Truso Gorge/Kazbegi

Start the day by driving to an amzing Truso gorge. This gorge is very spectacular with vast alpine meadows, derelict steep-stone houses, icy-cold rivers and mineral waters tracing the slopes of the gorge. The scenery is amazing along the way. After finishing the tour in Truso gorge, continue driving towards Kazbegi.

Day 5: Kazbegi/Gergeti/Sno Valley/Kazbegi

Another picturesque day awaits you in Khevi region. The trip starts by visiting one of the most exciting and beautiful churches in Georgia – Gergeti Trinity, which is located on the top of the mountain at 2170m above sea level. Enjoy the thrilling views from there. Afterwards arrive back to Kazbegi and continue the way to Sno Valley and village Juta which is isolated from late autumn to mid-spring by snow. The way along and the village itself extremely beautiful. Here you have a chance to visit the local family to enjoy a cup of coffee and taste delicious home-made dishes. Afterwards drive back to Kazbegi.

Day 6: Kazbegi/Gori/Borjomi/Bakuriani

After breakfast we head to Gori and Uplistikhe cave town. This rock-hewn city, located just 10 km east of Gori, on the left bank of the river Mtkvari was once on the main route of the caravans trading silk from east to west. This is the place where the Great Silk Road used to pass. Afterwards visit Gori Fortress. The historic fortress stands on a rocky hill in the center of Gori. The ruins on the northern slope and the archaeological findings indicate that there was a fortress here as far back as the I century BC. In the late afternoon continue driving to Bakuriani. Visit Borjomi park on the way, this is a good place to escape from sun and tiredness. Taste the mineral water “Borjomi”. Arrive in Bakuriani.

Day 7: Bakuriani/Tskhratskaro Pass/Tabatskuri/Vardzia/Akhaltsikhe

Start the day by driving to Tskhratsako Pass and down to Tabatskuri village. The way is extremely picturesque, you get a feeling like being above the clouds and in a clear day you can see the highest summit of the Great Caucasus – Mt. Elbrus from such a long distance. On our way you’ll see the summer huts of local sheep-men who’re using the gifted mountains to feed their sheep with benign grass.

Afterwards visit Vardzia cave town, amazing with the gorgeous views and caves.  Arrive in Akhaltsikhe.

Day 8: Akhaltsikhe/Goderdzi Pass/Batumi

You take a shorter but rural road from Akhaltsikhe to Batumi and cross Goderdzi Pass. You will enjoy the views of hidden villages exposing their beauty from tops of the mountains.  Arrive in Batumi and drop off the jeeps.

Day 9: Batumi

Morning is on your own to enjoy the pretty city of Batumi, take a pleasant walk in the boulevard. Visit Piazza and simply have a glance at the charming architecture of Batumi. In the late afternoon, you will take a train to Tbilisi. After arrival in the capital, you will be met and transferred to a hotel.

Day 10: Departure home

Transfer to the airport and depart home.
